Here at lwos.LIFE, we love the holidays! Many of our staff who are students and young professionals get a little extra time to work at our passion, writing. And, of course, we love traditions! Festive music, friends, family, food, and football are some of our favorite things.
This holiday, we’re here to direct you wherever you need to go to ensure your season is indeed both merry and bright. Keep an eye on our site for the following content!

Fabulous Food
We hope you all had a delightful Thanksgiving! Maybe some of you were privy to our grill guy Bryan Oakley’s ham feast. But if you missed it, do not fear! He’s flipping the script and making Turkey this Christmas, so keep your eyes peeled! Bryan’s also got you covered for the rest of the football season with recipes from the grill that will make your fellow tailgaters’ mouths water. Who doesn’t love some good grill time on a cold day?
Sporting News
The holidays are a popular time for giving, and so many athletes take to their communities each season to give back. And if there’s anything we’ve learned from the Ice Bowl, just because the snow starts, doesn’t mean the sports stop. Ryan Hawks and Kata Stevens have you covered on the latest happenings in the sports sphere, on and off the field.
And here’s our first tip: Want to make some of that money you spent on your holiday shopping back? Sites like Comeon can help give you something to brag about at the dinner table on Christmas Eve, providing an awesome online gambling experience.
Funky Bops
Have you heard? K-pop is the word, and our guru Jack Wannan has got you covered with what’s worth a listen and what you can skip as the holiday season rolls through. Come on, how many Christmas carols can a person actually take over the coming few months? Sometimes, you’ve got to mix it up!
Family Matters
We love our traditional holiday tales—Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus; The Night Before Christmas; and don’t forget about the story of the Maccabees! But we mustn’t forget to create our own stories, and Lukas Ridge tells all in his column, I Hate My Dog.
Alright, of course Lukas doesn’t actually hate his pittie mix, Buttercup, but he certainly did not know what he was in for when he and his wife rescued her. This will be the trio’s first holiday season together, so one can bet many shenanigans will ensue.
Living and Learning
One of our other favorite things about the holidays is the opportunity to catch up on reading. With our own reading lists piling up throughout the year, it’s the perfect time to start plowing through that stack of books that’s been sitting on the desk all year long. Our writers and editors will be contributing recommendations over the month.
Our science guy Emmanuel Rosado also has us covered, recapping his favorite literary works from the worlds of psychology, sociology, and evolution. It’s the perfect way to wake up your brain in between all the food and sleeping and family.
Merry and Bright
We wish all of our readers at lwos.LIFE the happiest of holidays, and can’t wait to celebrate with you over the coming weeks. Keep your eyes peeled for all kinds of new content as we dive into the end of a new decade. And speaking of the end of the decade… it’s time to start thinking about New Years Resolutions!
