The Walking Dead finished on November 20, 2022, but we have already been blessed with smash hit spin-offs, Dead City and Daryl Dixon. Speculation has been constant – about what happened to Rick Grimes after he departed TWD, but fans will find out soon enough, as Rick and Michonne will continue their love story in “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.” The latest offering from TWD universe will debut in February 2024 on AMC and AMC+
How Andrew Lincoln Feels About the Upcoming Spin-Off
The announcement of the return of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira to TWD universe – was announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022. Lincoln was full of excitement revealing the news: “I’m so excited to be returning to the screen as Rick, reuniting with Danai as Michonne, and bringing the fans an epic love story to add to ‘The Walking Dead’ universe.”

Grimes departed our screens in dramatic fashion, blowing up a bridge, but fans of the show saw him gravely injured – and being carried away in a mysterious helicopter. Rick was pursued later in the show by Michonne, who discovered a clue he may still be alive.
Familiar Faces Will Be Returning Alongside Lincoln and Gurira
Pollyana McIntosh will return as the double-crossing Jadis, who was – last seen flying off with Rick in the helicopter. Terry O’Quinn will take on the role of CRM General Beale, whose name many of you will be familiar with from TWD shows.
One Season or More?
When announced at San Diego Comic-Con, Gurira described the upcoming spin-off as a “prestige miniseries.” Great news for fans is AMC describing that the show will “begin with six episodes,” tantalizingly leaving fans to dream of more than just a limited series.
