EXO member SUHO celebrated his first trio of wins for single “Let’s Love” on music shows this week. Kang Daniel continued with wins as well during the weekdays. Here’s a full rundown of the past week in K-pop music shows.
The Past Week in K-pop Music Shows
4/7 SBS The Show: No Broadcast
This week only had five music shows, as there was no broadcast of SBS’ “The Show” this week. English Youtube channel which has uploading rights to the show “The K-POP” put out a statement, saying “The live of THE SHOW is NOT aired tomorrow due to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect artists.”
4/8 MBC Show Champion: Kang Daniel – 2U
Kang Daniel built upon his list of music show wins, getting his fourth win on Wednesday. The win stopped ITZY from getting three consecutive weeks of “Show Champion” wins for song “WANNABE.”
There were three comeback stages on the show, with performances from Stella Jang, Hong Jin Young, and Lim Young Woong. TOO, HAERIN, and DUSTIN had debut stages.
The show had two stages. The first was a cover stage from JUNIEL, who covered Loco and Yuju song “Spring Is Gone By Chance.” Also in a “Special Stage,” Poetic Narrator performed “Sometimes I Want To Be Desperately Sick.”
Returning performances featured BLACK6IX, EUNKI, FAVORITE, K-TIGERS ZERO, MY.st, ONEUS, Sejeong, UNVS, and winner of the week Kang Daniel.
4/9 MNET M! Countdown: Kang Daniel – 2U
In his sixth and last win of the week, Kang Daniel took his first “M! Countdown” win for song “2U.” After ITZY achieved their third week in a row of wins on the show, they were not eligible to compete on this episode. The song outscored Sejeong’s “Flower,” which achieved one win two weeks ago.
This show featured the first comeback stage from (G)I-DLE, who had new single “Oh my god.” Other comebacks included cignature, Hong Jin Young, MCND, Stella Jang, and Riaa. TOO had another debut stage on this show, as well as MY.st and DCOY.
ONEWE had a special stage, performing “W.” Other special stages included performances from 1415 and Yun Ddan Ddan.
The show featured other performances from AleXa, BLACK6IX, EUNKI, FAVORITE, Kang Go Eun, ONEUS and Sejeong.
4/10 KBS Music Bank: SUHO – Let’s Love
Kicking off a dominant weekend from SUHO, the boy group member turned soloist got his first of three wins for “Let’s Love.” The song was put against Zico single “Any Song,” which has found a long-term residency on the charts since it’s January release. Despite the win, SUHO was not present at the show.
Comebacks on the show were from BLACK6IX, cignature, (G)I-DLE, HYNN, MCND, Riaa, and Stella Jang. MAX and MY.st had debut stages.
Non-comeback or debut stages were from AleXa, D.COY, EUNKI, FAVORITE, Hong Jin Young, Kang Go Eun, ONEUS, and TOO.
4/11 MBC Show! Music Core: SUHO – Let’s Love
On Saturday, SUHO got his second win for “Let’s Love” after out-scoring ITZY’s song “WANNABE.”
The show had three “Special Stages,” including performances from Lim Young Woong and Young Tak.
Making another comeback performance this week, cignature, (G)I-IDLE, HYNN, MCND, and Stella Jang performed again. Along with debuts from MAX and MY.st, Hajin also debuted with song “Daydream.”
Also on the show was FAVORITE, Hong Jin Young, ONEUS, Riaa, Sejeong, and TOO.
4/12 SBS Inkigayo: SUHO – Let’s Love
Finishing off the week of music shows was “Inkigayo.” Getting a clean sweep of the weekend, SUHO won the show with “Let’s Love.” Since this show enforces a triple crowd rule, winners of the past three weeks ITZY were not eligible to win again.
Comeback performances from cignature, (G)I-DLE, HYNN, MCND, and Lim Young Woong were featured on the show, as well as another debut performance from MAX. Also on the show was AleXa, FAVORITE, Hong Jin Young, Kang Go Eun, K-TIGERS ZERO, ONEUS, Sejeong, and TOO.
